About us

The Observatory provides public health intelligence and library support to the NHS Kent and Medway PCT Cluster and works closely with Kent County Council, Medway Council, the 12 Kent district councils and other organisations in the wider health community across Kent and Medway.

Core Public Health Information team

The team is led by Meradin Peachey, Kent Director for Public Health, and managed by Natasha Roberts, Head of Health Intelligence.

 

The Kent and Medway Public Health Observatory has two main teams.

 

Analytical team

The Analytical team is responsible for the collation, analysis and presentation of data in a meaningful way. They provide interpretation to support effective decision making. The team works closely with consultants and specialists in public health. The team specialises in Statistics, Epidemiology and Geographical Information Systems (GIS). The Analytical teamis based in Ashford and is managed by  Del Herridge.

 

Library and Knowledge Services team

The Library and Knowledge Services team, based at Sessions House, County Hall, Maidstone, provides access to public health news, via the Kent & Medway Public Health Knowledge Bulletin , as well as books and journals to support public health and commissioning staff.  The team also provide literature searches, an enquiry service, and access to current awareness services, as well as training in literature searching. Jill Rutland is responsible for library and knowledge services.
