Kent has seven prisons. Prisoners may have specific health needs. Issues affecting the health of prisoners includes, blood-born viruses such as Hepatitis B & C, HIV/Aids, increased levels of smoking, higher rates of substance misuse including alcohol and an increased likelihood of experiencing mental health problems.
